Where is the Memorial site?
The Veterans Memorial site is at the north end of Riverside Park, marking the entrance to town from a height where the Crow River dike tapers to County Road 20. The adjacent parking lot provides ample accessible parking.
When was it built?
Engineering work and core construction was completed in 2022. Final construction in Spring 2023 added benches, planters, a historical marker and a permanent donor recognition board.
How can I support the Memorial?
The Rockford Lions Club spearheaded the Veterans Memorial project. Strong community support fully funded its construction. We welcome your gift toward future enhancements and long- term maintenance. The Project is a collaboration with the City of Rockford.
