Where is the Memorial site?

The Veterans Memorial site is at the north end of Riverside Park, marking the entrance to town from a height where the Crow River dike tapers to County Road 20. The adjacent parking lot will provide ample accessible parking.

When will it be built?

Engineering work and core construction was completed in 2022. Phase 2 construction in Spring 2023 completes the aesthetic design, adds benches, planters, a historical marker and a permanent donor recognition board.

How can I support the Memorial?

The Rockford Lions Club is spearheading the Veterans Memorial project. Strong community support fully funded the Phase 1 goal of $125,000. We welcome your gift toward Phase 2 additions and long-term Veterans Memorial maintenance. The Project is a collaboration with the City of Rockford.

From the day a soldier deploys for duty, the family and community anticipates a welcome home. The Rockford Veterans Memorial will be a community focal point for both celebratory reunions and reflective final farewell.

Funding for Phase 2 construction will complete enhancements and Spring 2023 landscaping. All donations received by April 1 will be recognized in the Flag-Raising and Dedication program. Later donations will support ongoing site maintenance provided by Rockford Lions members and the City of Rockford.
